This Reading course uses an assessment to determine student-learning levels, from third to eleventh grade. Based on the results, an Individualized Learning Path that provides high-interest, age-appropriate instruction for each student will be assigned. The ILP focuses on the Reading skills and concepts that the student is ready to learn and then provides appropriate instruction to help them catch up. A strong vocabulary focus introduces and spirals academic and domain words. Text mark-up and language support tools scaffold reading for students.
The online course also includes audio resources that can "read" content to students along with 17 different language translation options. This course is taught by a South Dakota based teacher.
