Course Description
This course also falls under the Arts, A/V Technology and Communications Cluster and can be counted as a CTE credit. It is up to the district/student to decide between a fine arts credit or CTE credit. Visual Communications is a course where students will be exposed to the software program Sketchup Pro which is software used for 3D modeling and printing. Sketchup Pro is professional-level, 3D modeling software. The students will use it to design and render their own 3D creation. This 3D printing and modeling course introduces the high-tech world of 3D modeling/printing to students. It enables students to learn cutting-edge technology skills and professional-level software tools. It provides a foundation in critical technology and design skills.

Blackboard course and Sketchup software --Tech coordinators will need to install software on the student's computers. It is a $500 software which is used by architects and engineers and is free to all SD high school students.
