Course Description

Listening to, analyzing and evaluating music expand musical appreciation, expression and the justification of musical preferences that lead to informed consumers and supporters of all types of music. This course explores orchestral instruments with their history, design and you get to listen to all types of music in which they are featured. The course then explores American Popular music genres and their stars, like: Jazz, Blues, R&B, Country, Rock n Roll, Hip Hop, Rap and World Music and the technologies for their distribution.  Why is music important? Maybe it's because music is timeless, universal, necessary and beautiful... all rolled into one.
