This course looks at the major ideas in the fields of cybersecurity or information assurance. The course addresses the fundamental implications of technology and the need to securely transmit and store information. The course looks at exploits by hackers, viruses, malware and social engineering and how to prevent or minimize the damage. Included are foundational cybersecurity topics including digital citizenship, terminology, best practices, threat identification and cyber hygiene.
