MA01581 - Informal Math 02001

Course Description
This Math course uses an assessment to determine student-learning levels, from third to eleventh grade. Based on the results, an Individualized Learning Path that provides high-interest, age-appropriate instruction for each student will be assigned. The ILP focuses on the Math skills and concepts that the student is ready to learn and then provide appropriate instruction to help them catch up. This course emphasizes the teaching of mathematics as problem solving, communication, and reasoning, and highlight the connections among mathematical topics and between mathematics and other disciplines. These courses approach the teaching of general mathematics, pre-algebra, and pre-geometry topics by applying numbers, and algebraic and geometric concepts and relationships to real world problems. The online course also includes audio resources that can "read" content to students along with 18 different language translation options. This course is taught by a South Dakota based teacher.
