Course Description

Art Appreciation S1 offers a comprehensive journey through the world of art, covering the definition of art as a whole, art's cultural significance, and the visual elements of art. Students will explore the nature of art, how artists become inspired to create art, and how art plays a role in religion, politics, and society. Students will gain an understanding of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art forms, examining how artists employ the visual elements to convey meaning and emotion. This course also provides an engaging exploration of art history, from Prehistoric art to art forms from around the world. This course fosters a deep appreciation for the richness and diversity of human creativity that students will connect with all parts of their personal lives.
