Biology, S1 is a laboratory course in which living things and their processes are studied. In this first semester, the instructional focus is on scientific methods and the building blocks of life. Through direct instruction videos, vocabulary activities and lab demonstrations, students will learn about cells and their processes, as well as about molecular genetics and heredity. Student understanding will be assessed through interactive lab exercises, quizzes, and tests. The online course also includes audio resources that can "read" content to students along with 17 different language translation options. This course is taught by a South Dakota based teacher.
