Course Description
Physical Science, S2 is a laboratory course that explores the relationship between matter and energy. In this second semester, the instructional focus is on three general topics: Waves, Light, and Sound, Electricity and Magnetism, and Our Universe, Our Galaxy, and Our Earth. Through direct instruction videos, vocabulary activities and lab demonstrations, students will learn about reflection, refraction, the Electromagnetic Spectrum, music, batteries, power, electronics, semiconductors, and computers. Students will also learn about stars, solar systems, plate tectonics, weather, climate, and natural resources. Student understanding will be assessed through interactive lab exercises, quizzes, and tests. The online course also includes audio resources that can "read" content to students along with 17 different language translation options. This course is taught by a South Dakota based teacher.
