Course Description
In this semester of Speech, students will learn what communication is and that communication and responsibility work hand in hand. Students evaluate what type of communicator they are and how to become better by discovering that all speech communication begins with the belief that the spoken word should build, inspire, teach, or in some way motivate others. This class emphasizes a strong values foundation that adds conviction, honesty, and genuineness to oral communications.

This semester’s coursework involves building responsibility, confidence, listening skills, nonverbal communication, interpersonal communication, interviewing, group discussion, research, organization, reasoning skills, effective language and delivery, and informative and persuasive speeches.
