Course Description
This course covers the production, management, anatomy, physiology, nutrition, reproduction, and the showing and fitting of traditional livestock including beef, dairy, swine, sheep, goat, horses and poultry. Exotic animals such as rabbits, large game animals, ratites, games birds, llamas, alpacas and companion animals are studied. The text addresses an overview of the animal science industry including its history, career opportunities, biosecurity, safety, and environmental concerns.
