Course Description

Art Appreciation S2 explores the rich tapestry of artistic expression throughout history. From the splendor of Medieval architecture to the avant-garde world of Pop Art, students embark on a captivating journey through the evolution of art. Students will delve into the symbolism of Medieval manuscripts, unravel the brilliance of Renaissance luminaries such as da Vinci and Michelangelo, and uncover the beauty of Native American art traditions. Students will also analyze the vibrant strokes of Impressionism, the mysterious landscapes of Surrealism, and the bold statements of Pop Art. By engaging with diverse artistic expressions across cultures and eras, students will cultivate an understanding of art history and refine their analytical skills. This course fosters critical thinking and encourages appreciation for the boundless creativity that defines the human experience.
